BIOGRAPHY
With over a 20 years of full-time music-making under his belt, Frank is known for his multi-instrumental expertise and popularity. His eclectic taste in music has seen him involved in a wide range of bands and projects. His trio, the ‘Frank Birkbeck Group’, is one of the most in-demand jazz groups in the Midlands and further afield
Frank has performed at seemingly every jazz club and theatre going, which has included Ronnie Scott's, Matt and Phreds, Theatre Royal, Troy bar, the Wardrobe & Peggie's Skylight. This has lead him recently to perform in Europe.
Currently he holds three residencies.
Recently he has been selling out theatres, and is due to record his debut album under his own name.
He has worked with names such as Hugh Pascal, Alan Barnes, Snake Davis, Luca Boscagin, Sam Jackson, Martyn Spencer, Eliot Richards

Sam Jackson (Double Bass)is a Leeds-based bass player. He is involved in many projects and bands, incorporating many different styles. When you see him you'll probably be like, oh yeah it's that guy. I saw him play before that one time with that other band. By day he can also be found working with undergraduates at Leeds Conservatoire. Sam is also an author, having recently published a book entitled The Fundamentals of Jazz Composition.
Si Potts (drums) worked as a session drummer with the BBC at their Maida Vale and Paris Studios. He spent over a decade in London playing at venues such Ronnie Scott's, the 606, Jazz Café, and the 100 Club. He has worked with many artists including Jamie Cullum, Digby Fairweather, Stacey Kent, Jacqui Dankworth, Barb Jungr and Denny Illett Jr.
Tom Maddison (Double Bass) Since graduating from Leeds College of Music's renowned jazz course in 2013, Tom Maddison has gone on to perform with a plethora of artists across the UK and internationally. From jazz and electro-swing bands at UK festivals such as Boomtown and festival, to big bands and orchestras at venues as prestigious as the Royal Albert Hall, Thomas brings a wealth of hard earned experience to the stage. He also has a passion for writing and arranging music, and examples of his work can be heard by many RAF ensembles, including the famous 'Squadronaires.
